Sea Vessels
The way is not in the waves; the rhythmic ups and downs, calm tides and torrents. The way is in the heart. For the traveler who knows her direction, there is always a favorable wind.
Most recently I’ve found a metaphorical connection with shipping vessels… carriers of what is precious. Personally, the “cargo” then signifies my son, my mission as an educator, my cache of memories and true self. The varying perspectives I have of role, my cargo and experiences are affected by disproportionate shapes and seismic circumstances – the vessel, the cargo and the forces of life.
