About

The driving force behind my art is about finding an appropriate object to relate contemplative experience.

Amy Mishkin- Chavez began her artistic career in early childhood by drawing on pretty much everything.  By doing so, she made distinct connections to her environment and clearly identified her desire to “make her mark” on the world! Whether natural or industrial, Amy continues to use a more refined and introspective approach to making connections with found objects. Her signature style comes from a sincere approach to infuse metaphor with exact replication, impeccable craftsmanship and overall whimsical experimentation. The freedom gained by creating with multiple mediums has led to countless opportunities to acquire formal training and exhibition. Amy earned a BFA from Arizona State University with an emphasis in ceramics and sculpture in addition to serving in Artist in Residence programs throughout the United States.  Her work is exhibited internationally and is included in several permanent collections. She currently lives and creates in Denver, Colorado.
